Curb Appeal

Many people who remodel their homes make the outside a second priority. If the budget allows, please consider making even a modest change because a small thing can give you a much needed upgrade. And you will get lots of compliments too!

Key West Home

The owners of this cottage home spend time every year in their beloved Key West Florida. When they decided to buy a retirement home in Aptos, California, they wanted to create a beautiful Key West vibe with its vivid colors. As we chose colors, they particularly loved this vibrant green paint with the light yellow trim. When it came time for the door however, they were concerned that perhaps they had gone overboard and should dull down the door. I encouraged them, “ When you go big, you need to take it all the way!” We selected this color for the door and modified the picture by adding flowers, landscaping, and a window box to match the door. By fully embracing their theme, they made it the cutest house in the neighborhood, and even won the Seacliff Beautification Award of the year!

Amazing Garden Home

This Soquel home was a built in the late 1970’s. To update the look, I chose this bifold garage door and designed a matching gate to the left. The driveway was laid with Belgian stone to get rid of the cracks in the previous concrete. I wove in some grasses and succulents, and created a second entry to the right fashioned with railroad tie steps. These lead to an inviting entry with a trellis that opens onto a lush garden path.
